FIRE PROTECTION/ LIFE SAFETY
The fireman's override notes, air supply protection, structural steel protection, and electrical wiring to control the building smoke damper that protect the air supply are listed below. There are additional fire egress plans that are presented on the bottom of the architectural system page.
Fireman's Override NotesNotes specifying the requirements set up to give firemen access and further control of the emergency systems incorporated into the building. The extra controls will aid firemen when they are called to an emergency inside the building.

Fire Protection, SupplyThis diagram shows how the building is protected against the spread of fire by fire smoke dampers at each branch take offs from the main so fire cannot spread through the duct work. There are also exhaust fans which can remove smoke from the space in a smoke mode.
|
Fire Protection, SteelThe steel is protected from fire by a treatment which will resist the heat of the fire which will make the steel malleable and susceptible to bending and ultimately failure in the event of a fire, not allowing people to leave the building.

Fire Protection, ElectricThis diagram shows the electric wiring to all of the fire smoke dampers which need power to operate.
